P-DAY PUERTO DE LA CRUZ

Last P-day the missionaries met at Puerto De La Cruz, which is about 20 minutes north of us.  It may be the most charming resort city on the island.  It was a short day with not much time to shop like we wanted, mostly we looked for each other  and had lunch, but for us it is always a joy to be with these young missionaries.  The Elders from the South had been to Loro Park and met us for lunch and a photo opp. As we were leaving our Chinese buffet we met a young LDS couple from Norway.  He had served a mission in Salt Lake and his wife was from Iran.  They were fun to talk to and very excited to meet some missionaries on their Canary vacation.

Puerto has many beautiful ocean fed pools.
The Sisters came in their harem pants and the Elders wore these Polynesian lava lavas? provided by Elder Lopez's (first elder on the left) mother
Sister's Judy, Phillips, Nydegger and Money, totally awesome missionaries

  1. I think those, ahem! "skirts" are lava-lavas--at least if they are from the islands. Are you sure you are on a mission???

  2. Thank you for the clarification. I knew they had a name but I don't have great recall. We do work very hard at times, especially on Friday nights when we have JAS. Sometimes it take me a few days to recover but we are blessed with recovery time. And we have been blessed with time to see the island. (The missionaries were told this week that they couldn't congregate in large groups in public and had to wear their mission clothes while in public places. I feel a little rebellious with so many rules that seem to not matter. They have so little downtime anyway. But of course none of these rules apply to us, except if we are with them, encouraging them to break the rules.)

    1. Thanks for your comment. I am happy that the missionary families are connecting with the blog because I do it for them as well as my own family. We served in Los Cristianos for 6 months before moving to Santa Cruz, where we are working now, so we still connect with the missionaries down there. Today 6 of us from SC and the 6 missionaries from LC went to Monkey Park together. Going with the missionaries was a riot. I will have some fun pictures soon. Blessings to your family.
